Av (אב), the fifth month in the Hebrew calendar, is marked by the mazal (zodiac) of Aryeh (אריה, Leo). This month is a time of duality—its first half is filled with sorrow, culminating in the 9th of Av (Tisha B'Av), a day of mourning. However, the second half brings joy and hope for renewal.

Av is governed by the Hebrew letters ט (Tet) and כ (Kaf). ט, resembling a womb, symbolizes the number nine, representing the nine months of pregnancy. In Av, these nine months are condensed into the first nine days, leading up to the 9th of Av, which tradition holds as the birthday of Mashiach. כ, representing the Sun, governs the month and connects us to the infinite light.

In the mystical prayer Ana BeKoach, the verse associated with Av reads, “Bless them, cleanse them, have compassion on them, always act justly toward them.”✨

Embrace the lessons of Av, and let the Lion's roar guide you to a place of strength, vision, and renewal.
